Please join me in sending your support to Adam Randall – MBC competitive team member. For those who do not know, Adam has relocated to London, England for the month of June to hone his rowing in with his sights set on top performance at the famed Henley Royal Regatta. Perhaps the most historic rowing event in the world, this is a dual-style racing progression on a slightly longer course (2,112m to be specific). Just to have the opportunity to compete at this race is a feat in itself, having to functionally be invited and vetted by a marshaling committee comprised of former Olympians and stalwarts of the international rowing community. These races, particularly the small boats, are often a dual between former gold and silver Olympic and World Championship medalists. In sum, it’s wildly competitive. The event is also a spectacle, bringing out the fashion of the UK to showcase to the globe.

Adam relocated to England on May 28 to acclimate and train. He’ll be based out of the London Rowing Club. In recent conversation, Adam’s training is going well. He’ll be racing tomorrow at the famed Metropolitan Regatta in Dorney. Update! Adam placed 13 out of 31 entries in the time trial with a time of 7:01 and advanced to the B final. It will be held at 5:33pm UK (11:33 our time). Check the link above for results. Keep pulling hard, Adam!!

Final update on Adam’s results this weekend. He rowed to a 6th place finish of 8 boats in the B final. See attached pic for times. Given the competition (extremely competitive) and this being Adam’s first full race distance pieces of the season, that’s pretty darn good. Nice job Adam! Now he’ll turn his attention to specific high rating race distance training to prep for Henley!

6.15.22 Update: Adam’s training has been going well. He’s pushing hard to achieve consistent strokes while maintaining ratings necessary for strong results. Adam will compete in the famed Marlow Regatta on Saturday, June 18. See the attached pic for him representing MBC and the United States. He’ll compete in the Championship 1x: Wethered Sculling Challenge Cup, starting with a time trial at 3:31pm UK time (9:31 our time). Top 7 to A final, next 7 to B final, and so on.
