Hello all current and past members,

The Minnesota Boat Club is happy to announce that Steve Whicher will be coaching at the club this year. The current plans are that Steve will start coaching regular morning workouts for competitive rowers starting May 20 through the NWIRA regatta in August.

Our aim is to provide an environment where we can achieve competitive success at as high a level as rowers desire to go.

For those who don’t know Steve, here is an abbreviated bio:

Steve has coached for many years in the Twin Cities - at the Minnesota Boat Club (MBC), Minneapolis Rowing Club, University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota. Over the years, under his supervision, crews and athletes have won medals at the NWIRA, US Club Nationals, Canadian Henley, US Olympic Festival, Head of the Charles, and at the Dad Vail regatta. An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and a PhD in Exercise Science provides a strong foundation to help guide young rowers to achieve their highest potential.
